About the Library
The Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth library was established in 1965. The Library is considered an integral part in the academic activities of the Vidyapeeth. It has a collection of more than 100000 books and subscribes to 124 periodicals (Indian & Foreign) on subjects like Social Sciences, Sanskrit, Literature, Philosophy, Religion, Indology, Ayurveda, Management, Hotel Management, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Law, Library Science etc. The Library provides services to all the students, research scholars, teaching and non-teaching staff of this Vidyapeeth. It also has a rich collection of 2270 manuscripts. Scanning & digitization of manuscripts has been completed. The Library operations are fully automated with SLIM-21 software.
Manuscript Details & Library Layout
• Collection of 16th & 17th Century manuscripts are available in library.
• The collection consists of 2270 rare manuscripts (Sanskrit and Marathi)
• Manuscripts have been scanned and are available in CD format.
• Another 82 Tibetan manuscripts are also in the collection

Collection and Resources
The library collection consists of books, textbooks, reference books, back volumes of periodicals, theses, dissertations, project reports, CDs, e-journals and online databases.
Books
We have open access system in the library. Books are arranged according to Colon as well as Dewey Decimal classification scheme as per convenience of the users. The users through the Web OPAC facility can easily access the location and status of the books.
Display of New Arrivals
New books are displayed every Monday for a week at the display counter at the circulation desk.
Reference Book Collections
Reference books include encyclopedias, dictionaries, rare & costly books, theses, dissertation, project reports can be referred only in the reading room.
Current Periodicals
The library subscribes to 124 periodicals (Indian and foreign) arranged as per subject in the reading hall. No current periodical or newspaper can be taken outside the library.

There is tie-up with Kesari library which provides the following facilities to students and staff of TMV :
• Kesari library tie up provides the following facilities to students of TMV.
•The facility provides access to scanned newspapers of Kesari from 1881-1930.
• Issues of Mahratta bounded from 1881-1930
• Rare photos of Lokmanya Tilak, Tilak family, work done is accessible in hard disk form.
• Record of letters of Lokmanya Tilak maintained in registers.
• Rare books on Lokmanya Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Agarkar, Savarkar, N. C. Kelkar and other noted historians.
Institutional Membership
MCCIA: Mahratta Chamber of Commerce industries and agriculture. The facility is useful for Management students as e-mails are received for programs organized and can be attended by the students and faculties.
Future Plans

About Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC)
The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) is one of the Inter University Centers set up by the University Grants Communication of India to promote Countrywide Classroom Programmes in the year 1984. It has been established with the goal to address the needs of Higher Education Information Communication Technology (ICT). Today 22 Media Centers are working towards achieving this goal under the umbrella of CEC. The Consortium has VYAS Higher Education Channel which is based on educational content on various undergraduate subjects which supplement the classroom teaching.

Library
The Central Library for all the courses of the Vidyapeeth possesses a sizeable collection of books and non-book reading material in Social Sciences, Sanskrit Literature, Philosophy, Religion, Indology, Ayurveda, Computer Science, Education, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Management and Law. Every year the inventory progress is increasing. The Library make use of latest technology. Students and faculties avail free internet facilities that helps them to have easy accessibility towards Library Resources..
Rare Books and Manuscripts Collection
Rare Books and Manuscripts collection may be said to be a special feature of the library. Well known learned scholars from the fields of Sanskrit and Social Sciences have donated their personal collections to the library.
Laboratories
The Vidyapeeth encourages the students of various courses to make extensive use of laboratories related to their respective courses. Different laboratories for Computers, Languages, Mechanical, E&TC, Psychology, Physics, Chemistry and that of Nursing and Physiotherapy are specious with latest equipments.
Seminar Hall and A/V Room
Besides regular classroom teaching, the Vidyapeeth take efforts to provide exposure to the students to various fields. The exposure is by means of various seminars, presentations, workshops and so on. For this the students have the seminar hall and A/V room with modern facilities.
Classrooms
Each classroom is well-lit having comfortable seating arrangement. The atmosphere is impregnated with vibrations of knowledge. Several classrooms are equipped with Laptop and DLP facility which helps faculty for Guest lecturers for PowerPoint presentation.
Hostels
Girls’ Hostel
The five storied girls’ hostel constructed through UGC grants is fully equipped with modern amenities. The hostel having 48 rooms can accommodate 96 girl students.
Boys' Hostel:
At present no separate Boys exists, however, accommodation is provided in the Staff Quarters building constructed with UGC funds. The ground plus two floor building with 24 rooms can accommodate 48 boys.
Recreation Room
Apart from the regular Canteen, Indoor Games like Chess, Table Tennis and Carom are enjoyed by a large number of students.
Media Centre
Considering the challenges to be faced in this 21st Century, the Vidyapeeth has established the Media Center. The Vidyapeeth with an aim to utilize modern ICT facilities has developed Media Centre having well equipped studio. A professional studio is utilized by various courses especially to prepare lecture CDs of experts from different fields. These lecture CDs are made available to students. The Media Centre also caters to the need of Videography of various events organized throughout the year by various departments.
Extra-Curricular Activities Student Activities
TMV lays an equal emphasis on extra-curricular activities like sports, cultural events, debates and participation in various competitions. We recognize the contribution of such activities in developing the leadership qualities, self-confidence, balance of body and mind and emotional strengths of the students, that are becoming increasingly important in today's competitive world.
Other Activities
Cultural and co-curricular activities are managed by the students' committee. Students are exposed to an open and stimulating environment which supplements vibrant student enthusiasm, helping them mature in organizing participative activities, besides the academic ones.
Fitness Zone
Our sports committee helps the students re-energize themselves by organizing sports activities. The students are given a free hand to organize various activities in the institute under the able guidance of the teachers. This helps in promoting leadership and organizing capabilities as well as imbibing unity, discipline and culture amongst the students. Yoga course of one month duration is conducted for students and teachers.
Guest Lectures
Each year eminent persons from the fields of Education, Management, Indology, Social and Health Sciences, Social Work, History, Economics, Politics and Law are invited to the campus to share their experience with the students.
Personality Development
Verbal and Non-verbal communication are an important part of the overall impressions of a person. The progression of the students from academic to professional life is easy, through various personality development sessions organised during their courses. Because of Globalization knowledge of English language has been a necessity. Vidyapeeth has appointed two faculties as well as language lab for better prospects and have tie up for soft skills.
