Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth was founded in memory of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak in 1921. In the year 1987, Vidyapeeth was awarded the status of 'Deemed to be University' by Govt. of India in recognition of its contribution to the field of education. During the last 37 years, the Vidyapeeth has developed significantly.
