M.Phil. (Political Science)

Aims and Objectives

---	For post graduate teaching and research in Political Science, the objective of the course is provide educational facilities upto the rural areas and urban area with diverse interest in Political Indian Govt. and Politics etc.
---	Research activity covers an extremely wide variety of fields, with diverse interests in co-operation, agricultural economics, industrial economics etc

Duration

---	This is a regular course
---	The duration of the course shall be 18 months
---	The first two terms are allotted for the teaching of the two theory papers, writing of two term papers and presentation of the seminars based on these term papers
---	The remaining term is allotted for completion of the dissertation
---	Additional extension for a period of one year for the completion of dissertation may be granted on the recommendation of the guide, merit of the case and payment of prescribed fees

Eligibilty

M.A. in Political Science (with 55% marks for Open candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates)
MA / M.Sc / M.Com students are also eligible.

Admission Procedure

	Admission is open during every academic year in the months of June/July
	The candidate should appear for the interview
	The selection of the candidate will depends upon his/her performance in the interview

Group A	Two Theory Papers: 1. Methods of Social Research 2. Political Economy of India
Group B	Term Papers and Seminars
Group C	Dissertation and Viva-Voce

*Note:-*
---	Medium of instruction will be English
---	However, a student will be allowed to write term papers, written examination and dissertation in English or Marathi
---	The seminar presentation and Viva-voce may also be given in either English or Marathi

Examination Schedule

---	Annually in the month of May every year. (For theory papers)
---	The student should submit two term papers and two seminars
---	The student should submit dissertation

Scholarship / Fellowship

The scholarship is given through social Justice department of Maharashtra Government for SC/ST students.
Rajiv Gandhi fellowship UGC New Dehli.
