Eligibilty
Regular Students :
--- Graduate in Geography of statutory universities and of other institutions recongised by the University is eligible for admission to the First Year of Parangat (M.A./M.Sc.) Geography Degree Course
International Students :
--- International student can be admitted only as a regular student to the Parangat (M.A./M.Sc.)
Admission Procedure
--- Ist term starts from July
--- IInd term starts from December
Examination Schedule
--- First term exam – December last week
--- Second term exam – First week of May
Scholarship *Concession in fees is offered to reserved category and economically backward students.

Developmental Pragram
--- The Department of Geography plans to carry out various researches in the field of Environment and Geography.
--- The Department recently launched a Photogrammetry course and a GIS and RS course. These Certificate courses are beneficial not only to the Geography students but also to candidates from other disciplines.
--- Development of a research centre.
--- Organization of seminars at regional and national level.
--- Organization of Guest Lectures from various fields related to Environment and Geography.
--- One minor and one major research project with an emphasis on the issues in Environmental Geography (Preferably Coastal Environment).
Achievements
--- The Department has bagged a Major Research Project funded by the UGC. The project is entitled – ‘Appraisal and Assessment of Juve - Jaitapur Mangrove swamps – A Biogeomorphic Study’. Dr. U. K. Keskar is the Principal Investigator and Dr. S. N. Karlekar is the Co- Investigator.
--- Dr. U. K. Keskar and Dr. B. M. Yargop published their papers in a book titled- “Coastal Processes and Landforms” by Dr. S. N Karlekar.
--- 29 students were awarded M.Phil Degree in the year 2007 – 08 and 2008 – 09.
