                             Hetu-Kosha and Ayuta-Nidana will get concession for Aushadha-Kosha and Ayuta-Upachara.
                         The first phase, of 'Triskandha-Kosha project' namely 'Lakshana-Koshah' was started in 1989, which later on received a fund of Rs. 2.5 lacs from 'Chief Minister's Fund.' Further, Vidyapeeth carried on the project in spite of many financial crices. This phase was completed in July 1998.
                         Vidyapeeth received a grant of Rs. 11 lacks from I.S.M.&H Dept. of Health & Family Welfare Ministry, Govt. of India for the second phase namely Hetukosha & the work alognwith some Vidyapeeth funds was completed in 2001.
                              The third phase namely Aushadha-Koshah (based on Charakasamhita and Sushrutasamhita) has started in collaboration with C.S.I.R., since Nov. 2001. This phase is nearing complete.

THE PROBLEM

                             This information is scattered and intermixed and is not easily accessible in  the  present  mode  of  learning. Hence,  it's a big difficulty, especially for the researchers, teachers and practitioners to get the information classified or organised in a particular way at one  particular  place. On  the  other  hand, it's now essential to undertake a deeper study of Ayurveda  &  prove  its  efficiency in this modern era. Exploration of the information regarding various diseases from basic texts of Ayurveda is the need of the hour.

THE SOLUTION

                             Triskandha-kosha    project  is  a  proper  solution  for  this  problem. It provides   the  classified  information  in  an  easily  accessible  manner  based on the original classical texts viz. Charakasamhita, Sushrutasamhita, Ashtangasamgraha & Ashtangahridaya.

THEME OF THE PROJECT

                             The project aims at collecting each & every reference from basic texts pertaining to the Hetu (causes), Lakshana (signs & Symptoms) & Aushadha (medicine or treatment) of health & diseases as well. This will provide classified information of all diseases from the above-mentioned texts. This will cut down the time, energy & money being spent by the researchers to a large extent. Not only that, this will open various new avenues for research in Ayurveda. This will definitely help in under-standing even diseases like Cancer, Heart disease, Chronic Renal failure etc. in Ayurvedic perspective & find effective treatment for that. The Diagnostic & Treatment Software (exploring the wealth of Ayurvedic oceans from the texts) based on this database will be an important tool for Ayurvedic practitioners for an online use of the texts for a particular patient.
                              The project has a very high potential from the viewpoint of Patent and IPR issues and is going to be very much beneficial to the nation to prevent biopiracy.

USEFULNESS OF THE PROJECT:

                       Triskandha-Kosha is an exploration of YÉäªÉ-YÉÉxÉ relationship.
                          Health and diseases or their types / conditions are YÉäªÉ (to be known or understood) and hetu (causes) Lakshana (Symptoms)                           and Aushadha (medicine or treatment) is the associated with it.
