BA Course in Japanese Language (Regular)
(Course Code 122)

Duration - - Three Years (Two semesters per academic year)
Teaching hours - Monday to Saturday (10:00 am. to 1:15 pm.)

          This course aims at learning Japanese basic communications (productive, receptive, interactive activities and strategies) at basic level.
1) Can read and write Japanese characters; Hiragana, Katakana and basic Kanji.
2) Can participate in short conversations in routine contexts. Can ask and answer simple questions, initiate and respond to simple statements in areas of immediate need or on very familiar topics.
3) Can understand short, simple texts in Japanese.
4) Can write a series of simple phrases and sentences in Japanese. Can write basic descriptions of events, past activities and personal experiences.
5) Can explain difference between Indian Culture and Japanese Culture.
Minimum qualification - HSC 12th Exam or Equivalent.

          This course aims at learning Japanese communications (productive, receptive, interactive activities and strategies) at some specific situations.
1) Can read and write Japanese characters; Intermediate Kanji.
2) Can participate in conversations in routine contexts. Can give a simple description or presentation of people, living or working conditions, daily routines.
3) Can read texts on subjects related to his/her field and interest with a satisfactory level of comprehension.
4) Can write straightforward, detailed descriptions on a range of familiar subjects within his/her field of interest.

Minimum qualification - Students passed 1styear Japanese BA course.
For Direct Admission to 2nd year BA Foundation Course of 1.5months is MANDATORY for Regular as well as External Students. Qualification: N3 passed
Fee per academic year (2 semesters):- Rs.29,000/- for regular students. Rs.28,000/- for external students(Inclusive of All teaching materials and class tests, as well as processing fees for scholarships/ study tour programs).

T.Y.B.A.

          This course aims at developing ability to communicate with native speakers of Japanese.
1) Can read and write Japanese characters; Advanced Kanji.
2) Can communicate with some confidence on familiar routine and non-routine matters related to his/her interests. Can exchange, check and confirm information, deal with less routine situations and explain why something is a problem. Can express thoughts on more abstract, cultural topics.
3) Can identify the main conclusions in texts. Can scan longer texts in order to locate desired information, and gather information from different parts of a text in order to fulfill a task.
4) Can summarize report and give his/her opinion about accumulated factual information on familiar routine and non-routine matters within his/her field with some confidence.

Minimum qualification - students passed 2nd year Japanese BA course. No direct admission to Third year.
